The Café in the Forest is in the courtyard at Grizedale, opposite the visitor centre and shop. It offers a variety of hot meals and salads, childrens' meals, sandwiches, soups and cakes with a wide range of teas and coffees. There is also a range of takeaway snacks available from the hatch if you don't have time to sit down to eat and drink. The Cafe is managed by the Brewery Arts Centre and is a lovely spot to relax and enjoy a meal, with different eating spaces: • A takeaway service for quick snacks and drinks |

The Cafe is open 10-5pm daily throughout the summer - winter opening times vary.
All the profits from the Café help support the work of the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal, which aims to make art accessible to all. Find out more about their works on the Brewery Arts website. There are changing displays of art in the Café, so have a browse next time you visit.
There are also plenty of picnic tables around the visitor centre, including a covered picnic area by the adventure playground. There are other picnic sites next to the car parks at Moor Top, High Cross, Machell's Coppice, Blind Lane and Low Dale Park.
